2022 Recap
Initially, I planned to write (and publish) this blog on New Year. I guess I procastinated too much, partially because I just picked a new game after a while. NieR: Automata gave me more existensial crisis than I expected...
Personally, 2022 was a blast. I won't write much about the detail, but I will try to write down several things I found very memorable.
Academic
- I am now supervised by Seth Gilbert for my PhD.
- Being a TA for data structure and algorithms course (CS2040C). I was worried since I felt I was severely lacking in teaching others (those who interact with me a lot will understand). Alhamdulillah, both iterations (yes, I did this for 2 semesters back-to-back) went well for me. Glad to have many awesome students :)
- Passed my PhD Qualification Exam! I was really nervous because I think the current result I have for my QE paper is not good enough. I can still vividly remember that during the day of the presentation, I can only sleep for 3 hours because of my anxiety. Thanks Ricksen for calming me down :")
Competitive Programming
- Being a Host Scientific Committee for IOI 2022 in Indonesia. Thanks Irvin for trusting me with this responsibility. I felt that my skill is already rusty. To be honest, I can't fully solve most of the problems in IOI 2022 :( Glad that I can still contribute something.
- Being a Scientific Commitee for Gemastik. Thanks a lot Prabowo for keeping my sanity intact.
- First time 4 of my problems got accepted to INC + ICPC Jakarta! Albeit the downside is that they are less interesting (IMHO).
Misc
- I've been playing Arknights for a whole year. This is the first time I have played something non-stop without ever getting burned out :O
- Was introduced to a better instant noodle, Best Wok :O
Celebrated Christmas and New Year like a Japanese
I've taken a bunch of responsibilities in 2022. So, maybe continue doing so for the next year?

Nah, not happening. After some thinking, I want to focus more on what I should be doing.
